Correct way to redirect all links from old domain to new domain without affecting SEO
So a few weeks back, we received an email from WordPress Foundation that we cannot use the word WORDPRESS on our domain. So we were compelled to forward it to another domain. And we moved it to heyletslearnsomething.com domain, which works perfectly.
We wanted to redirect all the links to the new domain, not just the main domain. Every link of the old domain letslearnwordpress.com should redirect to the new URL. As doing this, it will not affect the links on the Google search for our old domain.
Now to do this kind of redirection, it is very simple. You will need to log in to the cPanel, go to File Manager, and locate your old domain folder. Now create a .htaccess file (this file will be hidden, so make sure to go to settings and show hidden files to see this file later). Now add the code provided. Input the old domain and new domain.
Now this will redirect all the links from your previous domain to the new domain. All old links will be automatically forwarded to the new domain link. And this will not affect the site’s SEO too.
Thank you very much.
