Here is how you can set up a free VPN for your Windows PC. For that, go to the Start Menu and search VPN Settings, then click on it. Now we will be adding our own VPN, so click on Add VPN. You will need some information to use VPN, which we will get for free. Open your browser and go to the website VPN Gate. This website offers free VPN servers from multiple countries. Scroll down and you can find many free servers such as Japan, Iran, Korea, and more. You can refresh the list to see updated servers. Use the MS-SSTP connection. Copy the SSTP hostname provided and paste it into the “Server name or address” field. Give any connection name you want — for example, “Japan VPN.” For the VPN type, choose SSTP, and for sign-in info, use the username “vpn” and password “vpn.” Save this, and your Japan VPN will appear.

Now connect it, and you will see that it is successfully connected with a VPN icon displayed on WiFi. You can also connect the VPN directly from the WiFi icon on the taskbar. To check if it’s working, open Google and search What’s my country. You will see the country as Japan, meaning the VPN is working perfectly. To disconnect, open the WiFi icon on the taskbar, go to VPN, and click on Disconnect. To reconnect, simply go to WiFi > VPN and click Connect again.
