How to Save Capcut project Files to PC 2024

Are you wondering how to save and share CapCut project files on your PC? In this tutorial, I’ll guide you step-by-step on how to save and share your CapCut projects effectively.

Why CapCut Doesn’t Have a Traditional Save Option
CapCut, a popular video editing tool, automatically saves your projects. While this is convenient, it poses a problem when you want to share your project files with others or manage your storage space effectively. Unfortunately, CapCut doesn’t have a traditional “Save” option. This tutorial will show you how to save your project as an independent file and share it.

Steps to Save and Share Your CapCut Project
First, open the CapCut project you’re working on. CapCut automatically saves your work, so even if you close the app, your recent project will still be there. However, this auto-save feature is not always feasible for sharing or backing up your project. To ensure your project is saved independently, follow these steps.

After finishing your project, click anywhere outside the working area. You will see a screen on the right. Click on “Modify” and then select “Copy Media to Project.” This action makes a copy of all your files in the project, including images, audio, and other media. This ensures that even if you delete the original files, your project will still be intact.

Next, click on “Save.” You need to navigate to the specific location where CapCut saves project files. Please make sure you note this location, as it may differ depending on where you have installed CapCut. In this folder, look for the project name file, which should be named something like 0704.

Now, copy the project folder to a location of your choice, such as your desktop. This folder will contain all the media used in your project. To test if the backup works, close CapCut, delete the project from CapCut, and try restoring it. Copy the project files back to the original folder location in CapCut. Open CapCut again, and you should see your project listed. Open it, and you’ll find that everything is intact, even if you’ve deleted the original media files.

Finally, to share your project, you can zip the project folder and send it to others. They can then unzip the folder in their CapCut projects directory to open and edit the project on their PC.
