Do Not Schedule Your YouTube Videos
Today, we’re sharing why we’ve completely stopped scheduling our YouTube videos and shorts. This might be hurting your channel, especially if you are new.
On one of our experimental YouTube channels, we regularly post videos and shorts using YouTube’s scheduling feature. We upload 2-4 videos weekly, and while we’re active on this channel, the results have been surprising. Despite consistent uploads, our YouTube dashboard shows “0 video uploads in the last 90 days.” This discrepancy led us to question whether scheduling our videos is affecting our engagement.
We observed that our views were solid when we were manually posting videos, with steady traction across our content. However, since shifting to a schedule for video uploads, our views have noticeably dropped. While we can’t say for certain how the YouTube algorithm treats scheduled videos, it’s evident that scheduled videos haven’t performed as well as those we uploaded manually. This experiment highlighted a potential issue with scheduled content recognition by YouTube, especially concerning the platform’s metrics and views.
So, if you’re serious about maximizing reach, consider posting your YouTube videos and shorts manually at least once a month. Keep your channel active with regular updates to engage your audience and ideally boost your visibility in YouTube’s algorithm.
