Share Ethernet Cable Internet as WIFI to Other Devices from Windows PC

If your PC is connected via an Ethernet cable and you want to extend that connection to other devices wirelessly, here’s a quick guide to get you started.

Firstly, head to your start menu and type “control panel”. From there, navigate to “Network and Internet” and then to the “Network and Sharing Center”. Once there, click on “Change adapter settings”. Here, you’ll see your Ethernet connection. Right-click on it and select “properties”. Ensure that the option “Allow other network users to connect through the computer’s internet connection” is ticked.

Once you’ve set up sharing, you’ll need to establish a virtual router to broadcast the connection as Wifi. You can download the necessary software from GitHub. Although the page has been archived, the software still functions well. Simply scroll down and click on the download link. Once downloaded, install the software and launch it.

In the Virtual Router Manager, specify the SSID (the name of your Wifi network) and choose a password. Ensure that the “Shared connection” is set to Ethernet. Then, start the virtual router.

Now, you should be able to connect to the Wifi. To stop sharing the internet, simply stop the Virtual Router application.
