How to Deactivate or Delete an Instagram Account in 2024?
Here is the latest method to temporarily deactivate or permanently delete your Instagram account, updated for 2024. Follow these steps to manage your account:
Open the Instagram app and go to your profile by tapping on your profile icon. Once there, tap on the three lines in the top right corner to access settings, and then navigate to the Account Center.
In the Account Center, select Personal Details and then tap on Account Ownership and Control. Here, you’ll see options for Deactivation or Deletion. Choose the Instagram account you want to manage. You’ll then have the option to deactivate your account temporarily or delete it permanently.
If you choose to deactivate your account, it’s a temporary action—your photos and videos will be preserved, and you can reactivate your account anytime by logging back in. If you decide to delete your account, this is a permanent action, and you won’t be able to recover your posts or account data. You’ll need to create a new Instagram account if you want to return in the future.
To deactivate your account, select Deactivate Account. After selecting it, you’ll be prompted to re-enter your password for security verification. Once done, choose the reason for deactivating your account. If you’re just taking a break, you can select a time period after which your account will automatically reactivate. Alternatively, you can choose Don’t reactivate automatically if you prefer to keep your account deactivated indefinitely until you manually log back in.
Once completed, your account will be deactivated. If you wish to reactivate it, simply log back in, and all your information, followers, following, messages, etc., will remain the same.
Thank you very much.
